John Denver became a star through the folk-inspired songs he composed, the majority of which were located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell new Mexico, but discovered love for Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually settled in Aspen. More than a few people beat a path through Colorado due to Denver's famous tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's first inductee. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people around the world. People you meet in different countries, such as New Zealanders, and they tell them "I am originally from Colorado" And they instantly react with "Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief career performing in small folk music group included Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear an early version and knew it was going to be an instant hit in the top 10. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver made a recording a few days from now.
